First Wegmans Egg Petition delivery

Shortly after an investigation revealed widespread animal cruelty at Wegmans' egg farm, we began a petition drive to convince CEO Danny Wegman that his customers care about this issue. The Humane Society of the U.S. has asked Wegmans to phase out their cruel “battery” cages, and we're urging Mr. Wegman to follow their advice, like so many other companies have already done.

With over 2,100 signatures collected by mid-April 2006, it was time for a delivery. Hoping to grab Danny's attention, we rolled into Wegmans corporate headquarters with three shopping carts full of plastic colored eggs — each containing a signature from a concerned Wegmans customer.

Note: if you haven't signed yet, please do: we'll keep delivering the signatures as they come in. Thank you for caring!
