Non-existent veterinary care

Wegmans claims that each of their birds is given a daily veterinary examination, yet clearly this is not the case. The investigators at Wegmans Egg Farm found numerous cases of hens who had died in their cages due to stress, untreated injuries, or simply being caught in the bars and unable to gain access to food or water. Some birds were so badly decomposed that bones were visible.
